What to Expect at Pokémon Center Tokyo Skytree

If you’re planning a visit to Tokyo Skytree and you’re even remotely into Pokémon, then the Pokémon Center’s Skytree Town Solamachi branch is a must-visit.

Tucked away on the 4th floor of Tokyo Solamachi, the mall right under the towering Skytree, this store is a shrine to all things Pokémon which means you can easily combine a Pokémon stop with sightseeing and food. The store itself is packed with all the staples – plushies, trading cards, toys, Poké Balls – but it’s the exclusive touches that give this location an edge.

Pikachu and Rayquaza statue at Pokemon Center Tokyo Skytree
This statue of Pikachu kinda like wrangling the legendary Rayquaza and seemingly barging through the roof (or the sky) is so full of energy – a very well-executed piece of art.

The Skytree branch is best known for its iconic entrance display: Pikachu wrangling a massive statue of the legendary Pokémon Rayquaza who is said to live high and mighty in the sky, which is just very apt given that this store sits at the base of the tallest tower in all of Japan.

Pikachu Tokyo Skytree plush toy
These exclusive Pikachu-hugging (or climbing)-Skytree plushies remind me of King Kong climbing the Empire State Building in New York. If you’re ever passing by Skytree, better get them before they’re gone.

On the shelves, you’ll spot Skytree-exclusive goods, from a Pikachu hugging a mini Tokyo Skytree tower plushie, to special designs tied to this towering landmark – these limited items are a safe bet for souvenirs since you won’t find them in other Pokémon Centers.

Pokemon Fit plush toys Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Blastoise, Sandslash, Nidoran, Clefairy

Playing the Pokemon Frienda game machine at Tokyo Skytree
Aside from Pokémon gachapons, they also have Pokémon Frienda machines to play with at the Tokyo Skytree location.
Pokémon plastic model assembly kits and Poké ball bath bubbles
Pokémon plastic model assembly kits and Poké ball bath bubbles, anyone? You can get these at Skytree.

On top of Tokyo Skytree-only items, you can of course expect the usual spread: walls of Pokémon fit plushies in every evolution, aisles of trading cards, and of course Pokémon mini-game machines that you can take home such as your own crane game and gacha machine.

You can find the Tokyo Skytree Pokémon Center at the 4th floor of Skytree Town Solamachi’s East Yard.
