Although we don’t usually like the pressure and stress that comes with being a salaryman, we have to admit that Salaryman fashion hits different – always looking clean and sleek, and very fashionable. And although their dapper suits and shoes are inspired by western wear, the cut, prints and patterns, and the shoes, bags, and accessories that come with their overall OOTD make the entire look uniquely Japanese and screams quality, comfort, and luxury.
And turns out, salaryman fashion is becoming cool nowadays. I have always admired how sleek and fashionable the office workers in Japan are – from their pristine suits to their expensive looking shoes and bags, and apparently these quality suits, ties and whatnot can be reasonably affordable if you know where to look. In fact, I chanced upon one store while walking in and around Akihabara Station – the store’s called Aoki.

Aoki? You mean Steve Aoki?
No, not that. Aoki is a specialty store that’s mostly all about office wear and they’re located all over Japan (they ship globally too via their website https://aoki-global.com/). If you’re looking for some real good quality yet affordable and reasonably priced business attire for your next meeting (or interview 😛 ), or if you just want to look real extra the next time you go to work, this store is for you. They also have Tax Free counters for foreigners, so this is a great place to shop for salaryman outfits while in Japan.

*Although the photos I have is for men’s casual / business formal attires, do know that Aoki also sells women’s fashion. Check out their website to browse their formal and business casual attires for ladies.

I immediately knew I had to explore inside when I saw their frontstore displays, and I was really surprised at how reasonably priced the items were. And the quality tho – just by looking at them and feeling the fabric inspecting how the materials were stitched together I immediately knew that these were Japanese quality items that won’t break the bank.

Aoki has several stores in Tokyo, as well as in Kyoto, Osaka, Chiba, Hyogo, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Miyagi, Hokkaido, Miyagi, Ibaraki, Kanagawa, Gifu, Aichi, and Mie so you really won’t have a hard time when looking for Aoki in the main Japanese cities. Check out their website for the list of their stores along with their addresses to help you plan ahead in your quest to complete your Japanese salaryman starterpack 😉 . They also ship globally so you can definitely order online if you’re from outside Japan.
